Welcome to John Jay College!

Let me first congratulate you on your admission to John Jay College of Criminal Justice. We are so excited that you have chosen to become a member of our community.

New Student Orientation is the first step to ensuring your success as a John Jay Bloodhound. During Orientation, you will meet fellow new students as well as current John Jay students, faculty, and staff that will work with you throughout the day. Orientation will assist you in navigating campus and will introduce you to the resources and services available to you and your family. Studies show that students who attend Orientation are more likely to have a more successful transition to college as well as achieve better grades and graduate! During Orientation you'll learn what is expected of you as a John Jay student both inside and outside of the classroom, become more familiar with campus, and complete university business, such as getting your ID card or consulting with Financial Aid.

We would like to invite Freshmen to join us for Orientation and Advisement on either Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 or Wednesday, January 11th, 2012 from 10:00am-5:00pm. To ensure your seat for advisement and registration, you must RSVP. Students will receive an invitation to attend Orientation via the e-mail address they have indicated on their application.

Transfer students are invited to join us on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 from 10:00am-1:00pm.

Graduate students should visit http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/515.php for information about advisement, registration, or orientation programs.

We view orientation as essential to your successful transition to college. Whether you are a first time student, a transfer student, or a graduate student, orientation provides important information relevant to your success in college.

We look forward to see you this spring!

Sincerely,

Berenecea Johnson Eanes Ph.D.
Vice President of Student Affairs
