Congratulations Class of 2012!
Graduation from John Jay is a moment of triumph for you, your family and all of us at John Jay. The faculty and staff are excited to participate in commencement in order to celebrate your accomplishments. We are proud of you all!
Please mark May 31st on your calendars and begin making plans for this important ceremony.
Date: Thursday, May 31, 2012
Times: 10:30 AM-1:30 PM or 3:30 PM-6:30 PM
Where: Jacob Javits Center North
There will be two commencement ceremonies – one at 10:30 am and one at 3:30 pm.
Please arrive by 9:00AM for the 10:30AM ceremony.
The morning ceremony is for recipients of the following degrees: Correctional Administration, Correctional Studies, Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Administration and Planning, Economics, Fire Science, Police Studies, Protection Management, Public Administration, or Security Management.
Please arrive by 2:00PM for the 3:30PM ceremony.
The afternoon ceremony is for recipients of the following degrees: Computer Information Systems, Criminology, Deviant Behavior (Culture and Deviance Studies), English, Forensic Computing, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Science, Global History, International Criminal Justice, Judicial Studies, Justice Studies (Humanities and Justice Studies), Legal Studies, Mental Health Counseling, Political Science (Government), or Dispute Resolution Certificate.
Caps and Gowns - The Graduate Salute
If you have already placed an order for cap and gown, you may pick it up at the Graduate Salute on May 14th & 15th. If you have not yet placed an order with JOSTENS, you may purchase and receive your cap and gown on these days. JOSTENS representatives will be on campus during the following dates and times: February 7, 8, 9, 21, 22, 23 AND March 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27
Dates: Monday & Tuesday, May 14 & 15, 2012
Times: 11:00 AM-7:00 PM both days
Where: New Building Cafeteria and JayWalk
JOSTENS will accept a check, money order, or credit card ONLY. Please make all money orders out to Jostens. They do not accept cash.
The cost of a Bachelor's Degree cap and gown is $49.00 while the cost of a Master's Degree cap, gown, and hood is $52.00. Gowns are sized based on height and weight; caps are one size fits all.
You must know the degree you are earning (e.g. BA or BS). If you are unsure, please check on eSIMS or on the Jay Stop.
At this event, you will also receive your three tickets for Graduation and your yearbook. PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH GRADUATE WILL ONLY RECEIVE THREE TICKETS. There are no additional tickets available.
Senior Cruise - The Commencement Affairs
