As the only college in the nation founded specifically to study criminal justice and public service, John Jay College prepares students to have an impact on public life. The legendary Dr. Henry Lee, Chief Emeritus of the Forensic Science Laboratory of the Connecticut State Police studied here. So did Teri Coaxum, Deputy State Director for U.S. Senator Charles Schumer.
Our graduating baccalaureate students not only find employment upon graduating but also decide to continue their studies beyond the baccalaureate degree. For example, 77% of students who graduated with a baccalaureate degree in 2008 were employed 3-4 months after graduating; and 24% also applied to a Master’s program, law school, etc., to continue their education. Close to 43% of entering baccalaureate degree students graduate from the college with a baccalaureate degree within 6 years. (For students who entered in 2002, for example, 42.7% graduated from John Jay in six years with a baccalaureate degree.)
We welcome applicants from all 50 states and 135 nations, and we look forward to receiving your application..
