UMI Mission

To provide academic, personal and professional support for underrepresented groups at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, in particular Black and Latino males. The program seeks to increase the retention and graduation rates of all students while fostering a meaningful college experience.

All programs and activities of the Urban Male Initiative at John Jay College of Criminal Justice are open to all academically eligible students, faculty and staff, without regard to race, gender, national origin, or other characteristic.
