Any inquiries, both phone or email, made to the helpdesk during the dates listed above will be responded to on the next operating business day

The helpdesk is the central source of all communication within DoIT (Department of Information Technology).
We support the technology needs for 14,000+ students and for over 2,200 faculty and staff.

The DoIT Helpdesk does its best to resolve a problem when a call is received.
If we are unable to resolve a users issue then a work order is created and forwarded to the responsible area.
A work order number will be assigned to you for your reference.


Helpdesk Support

The technology areas the Helpdesk Support are:

  • Faculty, staff and student email
  • Access and support for the CUNY Portal and Blackboard
    • Note: Portal and Blackboard is hosted by CUNY. Service issues and delays are beyond our control at times
  • Computer hardware and software technical support for college issued computers and laptops
  • Telephone, voicemail and the college telephone directory
  • Network and wireless connectivity issues
  • John Jay hosted and supported applications and servers
  • Classroom equipment problems
  • Internet and Inside John Jay (Intranet) Support
  • Special Event - Audio/Visual Services
  • Instructional Support Technology Services Information
