The Office of Graduate Studies welcomes you to John Jay College of Criminal Justice. The College offers eight Masters’ programs to a diverse student body and in the following areas:  Criminal Justice, Forensic Computing, Forensic Mental Health Counseling, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Science, International Crime and Justice, Protection Management, Public Administration and Public Administration – Inspector General Track

Our programs are regularly updated to reflect the evolving nature of the various fields of study. For example, in the Graduate Bulletin published in fall 2009, the course offerings for Forensic Mental Health Counseling program reflected significant changes to meet the demands of the current student body and the world of work they will inhabit when they graduate from John Jay. The new bulletin for fall 2010 will include a new section for the three certificate programs available for graduate students.

We are extremely proud of the success of our students who enter into internships organized by the Graduate Career Advisor. Our students have gained entry into prestigious internship opportunities with agencies such as Consolidated Edison of New York, the Federal Air Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Kohler Ronan, New York City Transit, Prudential Financial and Siemens Building Technologies Inc. Students should examine the information in the links to the Graduate Career Office and make an appointment for consultation before graduation.

Our students and alumni are leaders in their respective fields and are recognized while at the college through our newsletter that is published twice a year. The newsletter offers vital information about our success stories and the many exciting opportunities available for students in our programs.

Please use the links on this page to obtain information about our policies and procedures, the various Master’s Programs, the Qualifying and Comprehensive Examinations, the Master’s Thesis Option, and the Graduate Career Office. The staff members of the Office of Graduate Studies are eager to assist you as you pursue these academic opportunities as well as the extra-curricular experiences available at John Jay.

As Dean, I have the opportunity to support the professional development and academic progress of graduate students. All of my leadership skills, experience, commitment, and passion for excellence are dedicated to the care and development of graduate programs and graduate students.

You can contact the Office at graduatestudies@jjay.cuny.edu or at 212.237.8423.
